At her death, Gertrude Hayes was married to Morris Betts, a fellow artist of lesser note, and they lived in Rugby. Gertrude died in 1956 and Morris died soon after. Presumably Gertrude's estate was left to Morris who in turn left it to his brother Alfred Betts who owned a music shop in Rugby.
