Tamara Rojo
(1974-), Ballet dancer and Artistic Director of the English National BalletSitter in 1 portrait
Previously a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet, Rojo continues to perform with the company as a guest artist. Born in Canada to Spanish parents, Rojo studied at the Madrid Royal Conservatory. She joined the Scottish National Ballet in 1996, and, in the following year with the English National Ballet, she was named the 'dance revelation of the year.' Rojo was invited to become principal of the Royal Ballet in 2000 and in 2012 moved into her current role. She was awarded a CBE in 2016.
