(1894-1981), Wife of Sir Malcolm Campbell; daughter of William Whittall

Sitter associated with 14 portraits
Dolly (Dorothy Evelyn née Whittall) married the speed champion Sir Malcolm Campbell in March 1920 as the second of his three wives. During a twenty -year marriage they had a son, another speed champion Donald Malcolm Campbell and a daughter. Recalling his impulsive temperament and his string of affairs, Dorothy Campbell thought him 'quite unfitted for the role of husband and family man'.

You are showing Dorothy Evelyn (Dolly) Whittall/Campbell's year of birth as 1909. Hardly likely when she married Malcolm Campbell in 1920!

From family history research I've done, I believe Dorothy was born in 1894.
