Brind trained at The Royal Ballet School before graduating to the Company in 1978. In 1981 while still in the corps de ballet she danced Odette/Odile and the following season she was partnered by Nureyev in La Bayadère. One of a number of ballerinas to emerge in the 1980s, including Fiona Chadwick, Alessandra Ferri and Maria Almeida, she became a principal in 1984. She created roles in Ashton's Rhapsody (1980), Glen Tetley's Dances of Albion (1980), MacMillan's Orpheus (1982), David Bintley's Young Apollo (1984) and Michael Corder's Party Game (1984). She left The Royal Ballet in 1991 to pursue a career as a freelance dancer.
