Prunella Clough

(1919-1999), Painter

(Cara) Prunella Clough-Taylor

Sitter in 1 portrait
Painter and printmaker of abstracts, Clough was born in London and trained at Chelsea School of Art. Her first one person show was with the Leger Gallery in 1947. After this she had solo exhibitions at the Whitechapel in 1960, the Serpentine in 1976, and at the Camden Art Centre in 1996. She won the Jerwood Prize for Painting the year of her death, and with characteristic generosity donated her prize towards supporting younger artists.
