She may be my first late husband’s (Desmond John Rowe Taylor) aunt. If so, her father was the farmer in Kirktown of Alvah near Banff in Scotland, where she has a tombstone in the churchyard. She had two sisters, Agnes and Margaret and at least two brothers, one being my late father in law, John Taylor. I query her name as she was known by the family as Ann. When l married Desmond in 1975 my late sister in law remarked that my mother reminded her of her Auntie Ann, who had become a nurse in London when young and had worked at Roehampton Hospital, finally becoming a Matron in Chief with honours. I do see some resemblance to my mother in the photo shown here. I gather she returned to Scotland towards the end of her life.
