There's a substantial entry about Dame Alice's father Frederick DuCane Godman in Wikipedia.
Dame Alice became Chairman of Princess Mary Village Homes (PMVH, a children's home for girls from March 1872 to June 1981) in Addlestone, Surrey, a role which was bequeathed to her daughter Miss Catherine Edith Godman 1896-1982. (I worked at PMVH from 1980 until its final closure in 1981 and I met Miss Godman very briefly on one occasion at the final meeting of the trustees of PMVH in 1981). Dame Alice made an appeal on behalf of PMVH on the BBC National Programme's The Week's Good Cause of 28th December 1930.

Frederick was the husband (not father) of Dame Alice.
They had two daughters, Eva Mary and Catherine Edith, who both remained unmarried.
Edith (who was known by her second name) was awarded OBE in recognition of her work for PMVH. Both sisters visited PMVH weekly when other duties permitted, for many years.
