Princess Elizabeth was a member of the royal family, the seventh child and third daughter of King George III of the United Kingdom. In 1818, she married Frederick, Prince of Hesse-Homburg. Elizabeth moved to Germany with her husband. In 1820, Frederick succeeded his father as the Landgraf of Hesse-Homburg. Elizabeth became known as the Landgravine of Hesse-Homburg.
