Frank Pick

Frank Pick had an enormous influence on art and design in the public realm in London in the inter-war period, as witnessed by the acclaimed architecture of the Underground stations built under his direction in that period and his commissioning of art work for posters from artists ranging from John Hassle to Graham Sutherland and Man Ray. A memorial to Pick was installed at Piccadilly Circus station on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his death.
