He was a Scottish pianist. Born in 1868. Died in 1948. Reckoned to be the finest interpreter of Beethoven's piano works until Artur Schnabel came along. He spent much of his time in Germany. He was one of the last pupils of Franz Liszt, in 1885-1886. The BBC made a famous recording of him talking about his time with Liszt. This recording, and an illustrated biography of Lamond, are in my 37 minute YouTube documentary video, which I researched over a period of 6 months in 2016. The documentary can be seen at:
