Kenneth Williams

(1926-1988), Actor and broadcaster

Sitter in 4 portraits
Actor and comedian. Instantly recognisable by his affected style of speech. Made his London stage debut in 1952 with Peter Pan, two years later played the Dauphin in Shaw's St Joan. Starred on the radio in Hancock's Half Hour, Beyond Our Ken (1958), Round the Horne (1965) and Just a Minute (1968). Starting with Carry on Sergeant (1958) Williams appeared in over twenty-two of the Carry On films.
