This is in fact the second wife of John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire. His first wife was Mary Anne Drury, who died aged 29 in December 1769. He married Caroline Conolly, pictured here, in September 1770. The Gainsborough hangs at the Hobart family seat of Blickling Hall, Norfolk. It has just been cleaned prior to journeying to an exhibition in Dublin which is due to take place. Later this year 2020 (if possible in these strange days!)
