Hello,
I'm the Rare Books Librarian here at the University of Sheffield and am in the process of upgrading our rare book catalogue records. Right now I'm working on Proctor's translation of Telemachus (1774) and have been researching the engraver Proud whose name is added to a couple of the plates in this edition.
The engraving of Richard here is also listed under the record for W. Proud (NPG D23632). Perhaps your W. Proud and Proud are the same person.
