He was my grandfather. Lived at Silverlands, Silver Street, Hordle, Hants, and Redleaf, Guernsey up until the Second World War. I possess the same photo. He led a landing party from HMS Vindictive on the submarine pens at Zeebruge in the 1st World War and was awarded the DSO. I am in possession of all his medals. He was also based at Simonstown — South Africa..
He was a successful yachtsman and I am in possession of several of the trophies he won.
