Robert Hicks.
I have two by the same name in my family tree. Both are recorded in the census returns of 1861 and 1871 as retired historical engravers. Both painted portraits as well as engraving. Robert senior was born in Shere Surrey 17 June 1786. Robert junior was born in 1809 and baptised on 9th June 1810. Both lived in various locations in Middlesex They were my second and third grandfathers, I have looked for the publishers of the engravings in which a Robert Hicks is named , unfortunately they are no longer in business. As both were alive at the time of the engravings being published either one could have possible been the engraver.
