Robert Rogers
(1727-1800), ColonelSitter in 3 portraits
Commander of 'Roger Rangers' in the war with the French in North America, 1755-60, he took possession of Detroit after the fall of Quebec. In the War of American Independence he raised the 'Queen Rangers' to fight against the colonists, promising recruits a share of all rebel lands.
