Sir John Chicheley

(circa 1640-1691), Rear-Admiral

Sitter in 5 portraits
Served with distinction in the Dutch War of 1665-67 and was knighted. He became Rear-Admiral during the war of 1672-74. He later served as a Commissioner on the Navy Board, the Admiralty and Ordnance and was MP for Newton 1679-91.
