Tess Jaray (1937-), Artist

Abstract painter, Jaray, studied at St.Martin's and the Slade School of Art, where she taught until 1999. She has had one person exhibitions at the Whitworth Art Gallery in 1984, at the Serpentine Gallery in 1988, and at Purdy Hicks Gallery, in 2001. During the 1990's she worked on a number of public commissions including Centenary Square, Birmingham, Jubilee Square at Leeds General Infirmary, and the forecourt to the new British Embassy, Moscow.
