Kenneth Arthur ('Ken') Dodd
Sitter in 4 portraits
An entertainer for the past fifty years, Ken Dodd is one of the last of a generation of classic stand-up comedians. His appearances on television, radio, record and stage have brought laughter to millions and endeared him to the British public. Dodd made his theatrical debut aged 23 at the Empire Theatre, Nottingham. Five years later he was the star of the long running BBC series The Ken Dodd Show, broadcast from a theatre stage, which established him as one of the leading comedians of his day. With Diddy Men, tickle-stick (feather duster) and the catchphrase 'How tickled I am', Dodd has entertained family audiences for over fifty years.
