Jean Seberg

(1938-1979), Actress

Sitter in 1 portrait
Film actress. She became internationally known, at first purely through the film studio's pre-publicity. Despite the film's critical and commercial failure she followed it with a more successful Preminger film Bonjour Tristesse (1958) and subsequently starred as a American beatnik in Paris in Jean-Luc Godard's directorial debut A Bout de Souffle/Breathless (1960). Her troubled private life lead to an early death from a barbiturate overdose.
