Ruler of a first class state in Bombay Presidency. Educated at Rajkumar College, Rajkot. Socialite, racehorse owner and polo player. Lived in Old Windsor with his British born wife Ella (née Atherton) where he was known as a graceful and attentive host. His horse Windsor Lad won the Derby in 1934 and many other significant races.
