Actor. Grant won a scholarship to New College, Oxford in 1979, where he appeared in several student productions and Michael Hoffman's film Privileged (1982). His greatest cinema success came in 1994, with the role of Charles in Richard Curtis's Four Weddings And A Funeral, for which Grant won both a BAFTA and a Golden Globe. He was nominated for another Golden Globe for his part alongside Julia Roberts in Notting Hill (1999). Other films include Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), About a Boy (2002), Love Actually (2003), and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004).
