Chrissie Hynde

(1951-), Musician; singer for The Pretenders

Born in Akron, Ohio, Hynde gravitated to mid-1970s London forming the Transatlantically successful British-based post-punk group The Pretenders in l979. Hynde later topped the charts in 1985 with a UB40 duet on Sony and Cher's I Got You Babe followed by two Top Ten Pretender's hits with Don't Get Me Wrong and Song To Her and has continued since then in the forefront.
