Birmingham-born John Michael 'Ozzy' Osbourne first came to musical prominence in the 1970s with the Heavy Metal band Black Sabbath who released their self-titled album in 1970. The group gained a cult following in Britain and America. Solo debut came with his album Blizzard of Oz in 1980 followed with the 5 million selling Diary of a Madman (1981). In 2002 was invited to perform at Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Jubilee and has attracted a new audience from the MTV reality-TV series The Osbournes.
