David Warner
(1941-2022), ActorSitter in 3 portraits
On leaving school, the prolific actor David Warner joined an amateur acting group before training at the RADA in London - along with fellow students John Hurt and Ian McShane. On joining the Royal Shakespeare Company, he captivated audiences with performances in the title roles in Henry VI and Hamlet (then the youngest Hamlet of his generation) and starring in The Tempest and Julius Caesar. Increasingly, his focus shifted to the big screen, often cast as villains in Time Bandits (1981), and Tron (1982). Other notable films included Morgan - A Suitable Case for Treatment (1966), The Omen (1976), Providence (1977) and Titanic (1997).
