British media entrepreneur and politician. Educated at Norbury Manor School in South London, Alli began his media career in 1992, co-founding 24 Hour Productions (later Planet 24) with partner Charlie Parsons. Previously Director of Carlton Television (1998-2000), Alli has been a Director of Shine Entertainment Ltd, Executive Chairman of media rights company Chorion and Chairman of online fashion retailer ASOS. Created a Life Peer in 1998, he was the youngest member of the House of Lords and the first openly gay peer. He is an active campaigner on Equality issues, a trustee of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Chancellor of De Montfort University, Leicester.
