Communications and Satellite Engineer. Chief Executive of Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd since 1985 and is currently Director of the Surrey Space Centre. Sweeting pioneered the concept of low cost spacecraft engineering when he lead a team of researchers at the University of Surrey in the design and construction of Britain's first microsatellite (UoSAT-1) launched in 1981. Since then, his organisation has launched 19 other microsats. 'From a very early age I was fascinated with communications, leading me into amateur radio experimentation and operations.'
