David Starkey

Starkey was educated at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He was lecturer in History at the London School of Economics (1972-98). Has written and presented the television series This Land of England (1985), Henry VIII (1998), Elizabeth I (2000), Six Wives of Henry VIII (2001), The Unknown Tudors (2002) and Monarchy (2004). He is also regular contributor to The Sunday Times and The Spectator. His publications include Elizabeth: apprenticeship (2000) and Monarchy: The Early Kings (2000). He curated the acclaimed Elizabeth exhibition at the Greenwich National Maritime Museum in 2003.
