Connie Eddiss was my grandmother. She had an illegitimate baby boy circa 1900 . We assume she kept this a secret as my father didn't know he was adopted until he asked for his birth certificate. He traced Connie and met her just the once.
She didn't live to know that she later had 3 grand daughters.

According to the kinship calculator, Charles Coates is my great grand Uncle and his mother was Harriet Coates (nee Lulham), and my 2nd Great Grandmother. The name Ada Harriet Coates has always been mentioned in the family but only recently connected her being also known as Connie Ediss. Charles Coates is not listed as her father on the birth certificate so I guess I’ll never know if she is a blood relative. My mother is working on Dads (the Coates) side of the family history so I’ll come back and share more info if we find any.
