Lauren Bacall

Made her Hollywood debut, aged nineteen, opposite Humphrey Bogart in To Have and Have Not. Bacall married him in 1945 and co-starred with him in three more films The Big Sleep (1946), Dark Passage (1947) and Key Largo (1948). Subsequently she appeared opposite Gary Cooper in Bright Leaf (1950) and with Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe in How to Marry a Millionaire (1953). Her 1957 film Designing Woman (1957) was completed in the year in which Bogart died of cancer.
