Sylvia Lloyd-Williams (as I think she was known) was headmistress of King Edward VI High School for Girls. She was one of seven daughters (also two sons) of Jack and Ellen (known as Lil, maiden name Vincent) Lloyd-Willams who built the family house called Brynele near Lampeter, Cardiganshire. Lil founded the school Moreton Hall in Shropshire which is still going today. All but one of Sylvia's sister's remained unmarried and had professional careers, often as teachers. Katherine Lloyd-Williams became Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Free Hospital.
