Baptism, St Mark, Nottm 17.11.1863 Frederick Chambers to Frederick Spur & Millicent, Annesley Grove, Hosier. Found on 1871 & 1881 census in Nottm. Moved to Lewisham in 1891 (indexed as Speese) stated as being Baptist Minister. Marries Ethel May Thompson 1905 at Louth, Lincs. Son William Thompson Spurr born 1892 West Derby, Lancs. Various newspaper articles as he moved round the country with his Ministerial duties. Goes to Australia with wife & 2 children 1909. Life Profile from Clergy Book First charge Cardiff 1886-90, Special Missioner for Baptist Union 1890-1904, Pastor Maze Pond Church 1905-09, First Baptist Church, Melbourne, Aus. 1909-14, Regent’s Park Chapel 1914-22, Hampstead Rd Church, Birmingham 1922-36. Address: Hove Park Rd, Sussex. Died 06.09.1942. Can be found in The Argus, Melbourne 1909 & 1913. Makes trip to USA 1922 in Ellis Island records with wife. Canadian passenger lists 1928. Dies 07.09.1942 Hove Park Rd, Hove, Sussex. Leaves nearly £3000 to wife Ethel.
