Sir Harold gained a first at St John's College, Cambridge and lived in Cambridgeshire for many years whilst married to Lady Kathleen. He had 2 children, June, now deceased and Peter who lives in Berkshire. They moved to Theale, Berkshire where they lived until Lady Kathleen's death in, I think, 1973. Whilst in Theale, he held a weekly fruit and veg market in the barn at his house, Orchard Close (now demolished). He was known to his friends as Jim. Following Lady Kathleen's death he moved in with his cousins in Northamptonshire and then moved to a nursing home in Gloucestershire for the last years of his life.
