Sir Herbert Brown ran a flour milling company in Vauxhall. I have photos of him touring the Mediterranean in 1936 accompanied by my husband’s grandfather. He was chairman of Charles Brown Ltd which operated the mill. He was knighted in 1919 but I don’t know why but I am sure a record must exist.
