Lynne Franks

(1948-), Public Relations Consultant and author

Born in north London, Franks joined Petticoat magazine as a journalist in 1964. In 1970 aged twenty-one, she launched her eponymous PR company, and soon moved to premises in Covent Garden, where it became established as one of the leading fashion PR firms in the UK. The character Edina Monsoon in the BBC TV comedy Absolutely Fabulous (1992-2012) was said to be based around Franks' flamboyant personality and spirituality. Franks published her autobiography Absolutely Now! in 1997 and The SEED Handbook: The Feminine Way to create Business in 2000.
