Sarah Sands

Born in Tunbridge Wells. Sands began her career as a news reporter for the Kent and Sussex Courier Group before working as Features Editor and then Associate Editor of the Evening Standard. Sands joined The Daily Telegraph in 1996 as Deputy Editor (1996-2004) under Charles Moore, later assuming responsibility for the Saturday edition (2004-5). She was appointed as the first female Editor of The Sunday Telegraph in June 2005 and was succeeded by Patience Wheatcroft in March 2006. She has written two novels, Playing the Game (2004) and Hothouse (2005).
