I came across Eddie and Millie in 1969 when recording a demo of a song I'd written with the late Will van Zwanenberg. Millie hadn't heard the song before the session, but picked it up very quickly. Had I known "Tell me all about yourself" was going to be released (even as a B side) I might have asked for a bit more rehearsal!

I'm playing guitar on the recording, with Richard Jones on the bass guitar. The flute parts were overdubbed later by Barbara Hiseman (née Thompson).

Eddie was manager and boyfriend of Milly Small the Jamaican singer of My Boy Lollipop at this time and they lived in Bedford Square and I worked as Milly's road manager and also as Eddies odd job man to fill in while not touring. Their flat was full of his paintings in his tactile style, followed by a series of paintings of women specifically designed to be shocking. One can be seen in the background of this photograph, which was part of his exhibition at the Drian Gallery at about this time.
