George Bowles (1732, London area - 1817, Wanstead Grove), was the elder brother of Rebecca Bowles, who married John Rushout, later first Lord Northwick. Rebecca was also the mother of John Rushout (later 2nd Lord Northwick, the famous art collector), George Rushout (later Rushout-Bowles) and of Anne, Henrietta and Elizabeth. Rebecca Rushout/Lady Northwick was, including with her children, the subject of portraits by artists including Angelica Kauffman (from whom at least two were commissioned by George Bowles, and made into popular prints). The three Rushout girls were the subject of joint and several portraits by Andrew Plimer, which were later made into enamels by Henry Bone and into prints (again with probable involvement by George Bowles).
