Marsha Ambrosius
(1976-), Singer, songwriter and member of 'Floetry'Sitter in 1 portrait
One half of English R&B duo Floetry, together with Natalie Stewart, formed when they began performing poetry on stage in 1997. Signed by Dreamworks Records they released their debut album Floetic in 2003, with a further studio album and a live album, selling 1,500,000 records worldwide. After disbanding (2007), Ambrosius' debut solo album Late Nights & Early Mornings won her the Centric Award at the BET Awards (2011). She has been nominated for the Best Female R&B Artist at the BET Awards (2012) and twice nominated for a Grammy for her song "Far Away". She has collaborated with other artists, including penning Michael Jackson's Butterflies (2002). In July 2014, Ambrosius released her second album Friends & Lovers.
