John Tuffin

He lived in the same village as we did in the 1950s. The village was Amberley, Gloucestershire. He had difficulty walking, and
seemed very old and infirm. He died in about 1966.
He was reputed to have been a successful stockbroker in Calcutta, and to have made a fortune there. He had given a stained glass window over the altar of the parish church in memory of his son, who was killed in one of the World Wars. I don’t know whether it is a coincidence, but it is very like one of the windows designed by Lockwood Kipling in Christ Church, Shimla.
Something unconnected that happened today made me think of him, so I googled his name to see whether I could find out more.
