Sir Henry and Lady Karslake had a country home at South Hill, West Wellow, Hampshire (near Romsey). There is a brief obituary in the Romsey Advertiser of Oct 23, 1942. Lady Karslake had been involved in supporting Romsey Hospital, a small voluntary hospital and in the early stages of the war had organsied the production of knitted and sewn comforts for the troops by ladies of Wellow village. It seems likely that these photographs were taken in their garden at Wellow.
