Sir John Maynard was born (probably at the Abbey House) in Tavistock, Devon, 18 July 1604; he died at Gunnersbury House, Ealing, 9 Oct 1690, his body lying in state until the 25th, when it was interred 'with great pomp' in St Mary's Church, Ealing.
