Sir Thomas Leon ('Tom') Blundell

Biologist. Blundell was appointed Professor of Crystallography at Birkbeck College, University of London in 1976, and Director, Imperial Cancer Research Fund Unit of Structural Molecular Biology in 1989. Since 1995, Blundell has been Sir William Dunn Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, and from 2003, Head of School of Biological Sciences. Blundell's research is focused on structural biology, the application of information technology in molecular biology, and drug discovery. He was knighted in 1997.
