This is quite likely the John Gisborne (died c.1836) who was the husband of Maria Gisborne (1770-1836), as mentioned in the ODNB article on Maria.
The British Museum Thesaurus has "The engraver John Gisborne was born c.1773 and probably died in 1801, as Maria Gisborne (born Reveley, whom he married on 3 May 1800) signed a mezzotint, The Soldiers Widow after S Woodforde, pub W. Cribb 14 April 1801, of which there is an impression in the Dept (1850,1014.893)."
