My uncle Ian Desmond Curry married Helen Towneley O'Hagan , I believe, in 1940. He had to change his surname to Curry Towneley O'Hagan to gain permission from the bride's father to marry her.

Ian was my headmaster at Rattlesden Primary School. He taught the Junior class, mymum, Pat McKenzie taught the Transition class & Miss Matthews taught the infants. Helen taught another girl & myself french in the schoolhouse, helped by their cat Muz who is in one of my school photos! They had a car which I believe was an Austin 7 reg no DPU78, why I remember that I don't know! I used to play with Paddy after school when he came home while I waited for mum to finish.
