I think this is probably the same artist as drew a full page (engraved) illustration in a volume of the Boy's Own Paper I am currently indexing. It has the title 'A Cool Customer' and has the credit 'Drawn for the "Boy's Own Paper" by B. Munns'. The subject is six mariners struggling in the sea while a polar bear climbs aboard their abandoned boat, with their ship shown in the background. There is a signature 'B. Munns'. I have also found two illustrations to an adventure story with the initials 'B.M.' in the same hand. I realise that this falls outside of your 'portrait' remit, but I shall be happy to provide further information or a digital scan (let me know your preferred format and resolution) and to inform you of any further discoveries.
