Jean Philippe Arthur Dubuffet
(1901-1985), ArtistSitter in 13 portraits
Born in Le Havre, Dubuffet was the son of a wealthy wine-merchant. He began painting after the second world war when he invented the concept of Art Brut. He pioneered the use of everyday materials in art, predating Pop Art.
