Sir Willard Wentworth White (1946-), Singer and actor

Opera singer. Born in Jamaica, White has an international reputation, and has sung regularly at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the English National Opera. His repertoire includes bass-baritone roles in operas by Handel, Mozart, Verdi, Shostakovich and Gershwin. He sings regularly with the world's leading conductors and orchestras, and has appeared as a soloist at numerous BBC Proms.
