A National Portrait: Britain 1919-59
The largest room on the first floor, this strikingly beautiful modern space with an undulating ceiling displays paintings on clear glass walls from the period after the Great War up to the end of the 1950s. One side of the space is devoted to the period after the 1st World War to the onset of the 2nd World War, with strong selections of portraits from the Bloomsbury set.
