This Portrait

Born in the former Soviet Union, Nureyev danced with Kirov Ballet until defection to the West in 1961. A regular guest artist of the Royal Ballet and frequent partner of Dame Margot Fonteyn from 1962, Nureyev is acclaimed as the greatest male dancer of his generation.
